A bomb threat email sent to a private school in Outer Delhi has been revealed as a hoax, orchestrated by a student attempting to evade exams, officials reported on Friday.
According to police, the PCR call was received by the West Vihar East police station on Thursday. The principal of Vishal Bharti Public School informed them about an email claiming that a bomb was present on the premises.
A senior police officer stated, 'Multiple teams arrived at the school, and bomb threat protocols were activated. The building was evacuated, and bomb disposal units, canine squads, and firefighting teams were summoned for inspection.'
During the search, no suspicious items were found, leading to the conclusion that the threat was false. A case was registered, and during the investigation, the cyber team traced the source of the fraudulent email to a minor student.
The officer mentioned, 'The minor was apprehended and during questioning, he admitted to sending the threatening email out of fear of the exams, hoping the school would declare a holiday.'
